Who Will Be Coaching My Child's Team?
Coaches are assigned by the club’s Director of Coaching.  All effort will be made to have coaches assigned to each team and age group before evaluations, but sometimes due to numbers or other circumstances that is not possible.  Teams at the recreation and juniors level will be coached by a coach from Coerver Coaching one of the top soccer training organizations in the world.  All Academy and Select level team will be coached by a licensed coach with at least an age appropriate state required license.  All coaches and other directly associated with the club also undergo a background check and Safesport Harassment training.  If you have questions, please contact or Director of Coaching at [email protected].

Who is Coerver Coaching?
The Sumter Soccer Club is a partner Club of Coerver Coaching.  To find more about them Google them or check out the website at Coerver Carolinas.  They are one of the top training organizations in the world.  They do all the training for our Juniors and Recreation level programs.  Each Select and Academy team will have at least one team session with their trainers each week.  In addition, they offer individual and specialize training to the club.  The cost of all of this is included in your club fees.

Are the Club Coaches Licensed?
All coaches have at least an age appropriate Grassroots coaching license from US Soccer and undergo regular training.  Academy level coaches are required to have a Grassroots level license based on the level of play they are coaching. Select team coaches must have at least a National D level license.

Have all Coaches Had Background Checks?
Everyone directly connected to the club has passed a background check.


Is harassment training required for all Administrators?
Yes, all coaches and administrators are required to complete the Safesport harassment training through US Soccer.

What Should I Do if I Have a Problem with a Coach?
Sumter Soccer Club  encourages you to talk about any issues you may have with the coach directly.  In most cases this is all that is needed.  However, we realize that sometimes additional resources are required.  You can contact the Director of Coaching Directly at [email protected].
